Anonymus hackers hit the Israeli army 2024-04-23 07:35:14

The organization says it gained access to the 20-gigabyte data audit, which includes more than 233,000 documents, including PDFs, Word files, PowerPoint presentations and more.

The hackers’ accompanying video shows excerpts from PowerPoint presentations by IDF personnel, with slides bearing logos of the General Staff departments. The authenticity of the documents in the video remains uncertain.

According to IDF security assessments, the likelihood of an actual breach is minimal, suggesting a possible “psychological warfare” tactic by the hackers. The IDF’s computer system is well secured and classified at various levels. If a breach did occur, it is unlikely that access would extend directly to IDF computers. Instead, files may have been downloaded from civilian computers, possibly in violation of regulations.
