Honoring the Fallen

This year’s honorees, each bearing the name of ⁢a fallen officer, were: * K9 ⁤Mos, a five-year-old Dutch Shepherd, carries the‌ legacy of Police Officer Anthony Mosomillo of the 67th Precinct, who lost his ⁤life while apprehending a wanted fugitive. K9 Mos’s handler is Detective Ronald ⁣Spalazzi. * K9 Louie, a nine-year-old german Shepherd, honors Detective Luis​ Fernandez, ‌who tragically passed away from ⁣a 9/11-related illness contracted during rescue and⁤ recovery⁣ efforts. K9 Louie’s handler is Detective Paul Urquiaga. * K9 Tombo, ‍a five-year-old Belgian Malinois, ⁣is named after Police Officer Thomas Gallagher, who also succumbed to a 9/11-related illness contracted during rescue and recovery efforts. ⁢K9⁢ Tombo’s handler is ⁤Detective Monika Grejniec. * K9 Hansen, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, bears the name of Police Officer Kenneth Hansen, who tragically drowned while participating in a training exercise posing as‍ a victim.K9 Hansen’s handler is Police⁣ Officer Ryan Ferrari.
