Key figures

  • Net sales decreased by €44.4 million (23%) to €152.0 million, mainly due to lower European premiums and lower merchandise sales.
  • Costs decreased by € 11.4 million to € 191.3 million (6%) due to a decrease in player salaries and purchasing costs as a result of lower merchandise turnover.
  • The operating loss this financial year amounts to €39.3 million, compared to an operating loss of €6.4 million in 2022/2023.
  • The result from player transfers amounts to €81.5 million, mainly driven by transfers of Mohammed Kudus and Edson Álvarez to West Ham United and Jurriën Timber to Arsenal. After depreciation of compensation amounts, the transfer result amounts to € 31.3 million.
  • The net loss amounts to € 9.8 million. In the 2022/2023 season this was a net profit of €39.0 million.
  • After processing the negative result of € 9.8 million, the equity amounts to € 226.4 million

Ajax expects a negative result after taxes for the 2024/2025 season. This is caused by the current cost level in relation to participation in the UEFA Europa League on the one hand and the transfer result achieved to date on the other. With a view to sustainable financial health, additional structural cost reductions are being implemented this season.

The following financial overview covers the period from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 and is compared with the period from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
