The resignation of these special honorary retirees was carried out to overcome KBS’s financial and management crisis. KBS received applications for special honorary retirement and voluntary retirement from long-term employees from the 15th to the 26th through an in-house notice. About 87 people applied and will be dismissed as of the 29th.
Applications for special honorary retirement were eligible for employees with more than 20 years of service and more than 1 year remaining before retirement age (as of February 29), and applicants can receive up to 45 months of basic salary and 100 million won in consolation money depending on the remaining period of retirement age. Those eligible for voluntary retirement are those who have worked for more than one year, and applicants can receive up to 6 months of basic salary and up to 30 million won in consolation money.
KBS said, “We are facing an unprecedented financial and management crisis due to ongoing deficits and separate collection of license fees. To overcome this situation, we have implemented special honorary retirement and voluntary retirement as part of company-wide employment adjustment based on management needs.” “I do,” he explained.
