Koike was the captain when Kaishi Kokusai High School won its first Inter-High Championship in the fifth year since its establishment. After entering Nihon Keizai University, a leading school in Kyushu and a regular intercollegiate school, he inspired the team with his characteristic 3-pointer as a weapon, and led the team to 4th place in the West Japan tournament last year. He will join the team as a special designated player this time, but as a player from Niigata Prefecture, like Endo, I expect him to grab the booster’s heart with his splendid three-pointers.
