Anneni has a car, but does not drive to the location; If you know you have an AC car, you won’t get the movie: Baburaj
Baburaj is a star who came through small villain roles that ‘thundered’ from everyone, and later shined in leading roles as a comedy star and a character actor. The actor made his debut in Malayalam cinema in 1994, but became a favorite of the audience with the 2011 film Ashiq Abu Salt and Pepper.
Baburaj is now answering the question of what kept him in the cinema even when he had to act as a junior artiste and small villain roles in the beginning of his career.
He was speaking in an interview with Ginger Media Entertainment.
“‘Many people have come to the cinema with us. But only Abu Salim is still standing in the field as a contemporary. The reason for mentioning Abu Salim’s name is that if you ask me for Abu Salim’s number or ask Abu Salim for my number, he will give it to you.
In today’s times, no one will give, because both of them are playing the same role. But then there was nothing like that. We were friends.
It’s a big spot to hold onto the field. I came into the film not expecting to get anything out of it. I had my own car then. It’s an AC car.
But I will leave the car and walk to the location. Because if I go to the location with an AC car, then I will not be called for any role. That’s how it was then. If a person produces a film, then he is not called to act.
I did not put my name in the first film I produced. It was called Cochin Films. Because even Mafia Sashi Master said that if you put my name then you will not get the picture. Not so today, times have changed,” Baburaj said.
Baburaj’s upcoming film Gold is directed by Alphonse Putran. The actor’s latest release is Kooman directed by Jeethu Joseph starring Asif Ali.
