Anne Hathaway Opens Up About Being Required to Kiss Multiple Co-Stars
In a recent interview, Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway revealed a shocking experience from early in her career. Hathaway shared that during the 2000s, while working on a film, producers required her to kiss a succession of potential co-stars as part of the audition process.
Speaking to V Magazine, Hathaway expressed her thoughts on this outdated practice, stating, “It was considered normal to ask an actor to make out with other actors to test for chemistry. Which is actually the worst way to do it.” She went on to recount an instance where she was told, “We have 10 guys coming today and you’re cast. Aren’t you excited to make out with all of them?” Hathaway admitted feeling uncomfortable and wondering if there was something wrong with her for not being excited regarding the situation.
