We remind you that Anna Veroulis was the first Greek athlete with a gold medal in major competitions in the history of Greek Sports. At the opening of our Olympic Stadium in 1982, he won the gold medal in javelin, while the following year in 1983, he won the bronze medal at the 1st World Athletics Championships in Helsinki, which was the first medal for our country in a World Championship.
