Press release The Riksbank’s full council decided today to appoint Anna Seim as a new member of the Riksbank’s executive board. Anna Seim succeeds Martin Flodén, whose mandate expires on 21 May 2024.

Anna Seim is currently professor of economics and deputy head of department at the Department of Economics at Stockholm University. Her research is, among other things, focused on the effects of the inflation target on wage formation and other macroeconomic outcomes.
“We are very pleased to be able to present a new highly qualified member to the Riksbank’s executive board. Anna Seim has a solid academic career and deep insights into how central banks affect the economy. She will complement the other members well and we are also happy that the decision was unanimous,” says Riksbank Council Chairman Bo Broman and Deputy Chairman Tomas Eneroth in a joint comment.
Anna Seim has been appointed for a six-year term starting on May 22, 2024. Her first monetary policy meeting will be the one that takes place on June 26.
The Riksbank’s executive board consists of five members who are elected for mandate periods of five or six years. Other members are Riksbank Governor Erik Thedéen, First Deputy Riksbank Governor Anna Breman and Deputy Riksbank Governors Aino Bunge and Per Jansson.
