Turkey wants to join the BRICS grouping, which is an alternative to the Western economic groupings. Turkey has submitted a formal application to join the group of countries (Russia, China, United Arab Emirates, India, etc.). The reason is the strengthening of global influence, frustration with the admission process to the European Union and the establishment of new alliances outside the traditional Western states.

The BRICS organization, which was created as an alternative to the Western economic blocs, consists of the founding countries of Russia, China, South Africa, Brazil and India, with the subsequent additions of Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia. Bloomberg adds that the alliance is often seen as “pro-Russian” and “anti-Western.” BRICS strongly promotes trading in the national currencies of member countries, such as the Russian ruble or the Chinese yuan. It is the Russian Federation and China that dominate the alliance, which has long been trying to reduce the influence of the dollar on international trade.
