When I look around for what’s hot at the beginning of the year, I regularly come across one theme and that’s animal print. It has been worn once more and once more by many ladies for decades. It’s just so popular that it never goes out of style.
Is Leo still hot in 2023?
Many of my regular readers know that I’m not the biggest fan of animal print patterns. Whether it’s a leopard, zebra, tiger or Dalmatian, I don’t go “HURRA, I have to have this” when I spot a piece of clothing with animal motifs.
Exceptions usually confirm the rule. I admit that I even have two dresses, a skirt, trousers, a blazer and now a pair of jeans with this daring pattern in my closet. A few high heels and booties are also available that have this pattern.
Animal print trousers from Italy
I fell in love with the animal print trousers I am presenting today at first sight. I admit it, it was definitely because I discovered them in Meran during my last stay in autumn. Before I said YES to the pants, my mind ran over how I can combine them. Three looks with a new piece of clothing have to be put together before I buy anything new.
When I wear these trousers, I always think of the sunny autumn that I was able to spend in Meran in October last year. And then it happens when I put it on that I really like it and I feel (almost) like I’m in Meran.
Above all, I like the cut of the pants. The flared trouser shape makes each leg appear slimmer. The elastane content in the pants ensures absolute comfort. And to be honest, it was also cheap.

What to consider when combining animal prints is that you don’t combine several different animal prints with each other. Hard to imagine that there is such a thing, but there is. Let’s take a closer look at the street scene.

- I combine the trousers with a black turtleneck and a beige blazer. The ankle boots are colour-coordinated with the pants. I bought the handbag in Bolzano, which also completes the colourfulness of the look.
- The second look is very easy to put into practice. I exchange the blazer for my leather dress. Yes, you read correctly. It’s a dress that I wear openly and almost misappropriate as a coat. The beret in black, sunglasses and the second look is done.
- A black blazer with a black turtleneck sweater is the reduced combination variant.
- A silk blouse in beige, a poncho in black and you have a chic city look
- An oversize sweater in unobtrusive colors with a black or beige blouse underneath is a great look for leisure.
- Those who are bold in color can combine a red top with trousers. It’s definitely worth a try.
