In a press release from her label Napalm Records the group announced: “Yesterday we had a wonderful performance on the ZDF TV garden. Apparently some viewers were bothered by what they thought was a sexist statement made by presenter Andrea Kiewel. We can give the all-clear.”

The band Angus McSix was founded in 2021 – Thomas Laszlo Winkler is the singer of the group, which belongs to the power metal genre. Sebastian Levermann is responsible for the electric guitar and electric bass, and Thalia Bellazecca is also on the electric guitar. Manu Lotter is the band’s drummer. The members come from Germany, Italy and Switzerland and released their first album “Angus McSix and the Sword of Power” on April 21, 2023 and celebrated chart and streaming success.

The musicians around singer Thomas Winkler (37) didn’t have a big problem with Andrea Kiewel’s flirting offensive – because they obviously know situations like this. “As members of a metal band, we are exposed to hundreds of sexual assaults every day on tour and are reduced to nothing more than our looks,” they continued in their statement. “We really appreciate that because we don’t have anything else to offer,” they added.
