Angola wins three medals in the debut of the African Fighting Championship – Jornal OPaís

A sNational wrestling team won this Saturday (16) two silver medals and one bronze, in their debut at the related African Championship, which takes place in the city of Cairo (Egypt).

In men, Makaya Nsumbo katendi, in the 51kg category, in cadets, won a silver, in Luta Livre, and another bronze, in the Greco-Roman style.

In the women’s category, Josette Mavungo won silver, also in freestyle wrestling.

On Sunday, in the men’s category, the Angolans will compete once morest Manaceu Nkunga Ngonda, Miguel Antonio, Roberto Mbaio Nsangua, Tekasala Fernando and Miguel Lucia.

In women’s, the team takes the stage with Sofia Kavungo Vemba.

Among Angola’s opponents on Sunday, competitors from Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt stand out, countries that usually compete for the podium in the sport.

In the race, which started on Thursday (14) and ends on Tuesday, Angola aims to equal or improve the results of the previous edition.

In 2023, in Tunisia, the national team won one gold medal, four silver and three bronze.

Angola is in Egypt with 13 fighters, 11 male and three female.
