Angola selects six provinces to promote tourism – Jornal OPaís

Huíla, Benguela, Luanda, Namibe, Malanje, Cuando Cubango and Zaire are the six provinces selected as priority destinations for tourists, as they have good roads and quality hotels, considered strategic tourist resources

The selection of these destinations for the first phase was made by the Tourism Promotion Institute (INFORTUR) and took into account 15 exclusive strategic resources, including access and hotels. that, due to the improvement of these indicators, other provinces are being integrated. He stressed that in Lubango, places such as Tundavala, one of the seven wonders of Angola, as well as the Miradouro da Serra da Leba have already been selected, while in Namibe there are Colinas do Curoca and Lagoas do Arco, places where they will be installed – Equipment sides to facilitate tourists.

Speaking as part of the preparations for the seventh International Tourism Exchange (Bitur) to be held next May, Afonso Vita highlighted that, although they present necessary conditions, there is an urgent need for the private sector to contribute to the improvement of these places. He highlighted, for example, the tourist site of Tundavala, which calls for more social facilities such as bathrooms, shops selling handicrafts and food, to attract a greater number of tourists. “There is also a need to place strategic tourist resources in these locations, parking lots, spaces for photographs and an observatory with greater security to protect visitors,” he said.

Regarding the progress of the Tourism Development Plan in Angola, he stated that it brings together an incentive and a line of credit to support investors in the sector, aiming to increasingly leverage the national economy. For the person responsible, this factor was one of the biggest plans needed to boost tourism in the country and the Executive fulfilled its role in this regard, which will allow the creation of the necessary conditions for its dissemination and also access to credit.

The line of credit will allow anyone who wants to build a small 26-room project to do so more easily and without bureaucracy, he assured. He recalled that a technical survey was carried out within the six provinces and following that it was submitted for evaluation and approval at the level of the Council of Ministers, with its operationalization beginning this year, which will guarantee a boost to the sector in all aspects. The city of Lubango, capital of the province of Huíla, hosts the seventh edition of the International Tourism Exchange (BITUR), from the 2nd to the 4th of May this year, an initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in partnership with Eventos Arena .
