The Egyptian artist Angham opened the “Laylat Omar” singing festival, by performing its first concert at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, in the presence of a “full” audience, which forced the producer, Abdulaziz Al-Zaidi, to hold a second singing night the very next day, whose tickets were also completely sold out. .
Angham remained on stage from 10:20 in the evening until 1:30 in the morning, spending nearly three and a half hours, the longest of the evening’s singing, in which she performed 27 songs, while the band appeared on the stage at ten in the evening and played a piece of music for the song “The Lady.” Umm Kulthum “You are my life,” then the band’s leader, Maestro Hani Farhat, entered.
The concert began with the song “I love you and I miss you,” to which the audience responded with a welcoming tone, as if saying to her, “We love you and we miss you.” Then, “Voice of Egypt” stopped singing and addressed the large audience, “I miss you and have a good evening.” Then she moved the stage to distant horizons and soared with magic. Her voice turned the place into a special state of romance and warmth with her performance of the song “A Special Condition.” Then she spoke to the audience regarding the most beautiful thing that happened to her during her visit this time to Kuwait, which was that some of the audience gave her a “mic and stand,” which is the microphone that she loved to sing through. Then she surprised the audience by summoning her son, Abdul Rahman, to the stage, saying: “This is your son, Abdul Rahman Fahd Al-Shalabi. He will obtain citizenship in two months,” and the audience welcomed Abdul Rahman with a storm of applause.
Angham continued singing by performing “Leave Me A Little With You,” then moved to a different stage and sang in the Gulf dialect and performed “Don’t Spell,” which the audience sang along with and shook the walls of the stage with its voice.
Angham was keen to present a wide variety of songs that she chose for the concert, despite the audience’s hunger, which put her in great confusion due to the numerous requests for songs from her rich archive. She wanted to present all her new ones while the audience demanded something else, but she succeeded in striking a balance, as she completed her concert program. She performed the song “Nafs Al-Shouq,” which is one of the songs that talks regarding memories with grief and sadness. Then she asked to dim the stage lighting so that the audience might experience the atmosphere. Then she entertained the audience with the song “A Faded Painting,” so that the magic overflowed in the voices of the audience who sang in return. But she changed the stage atmosphere and presented the song “Asamik.” “A lot” to ignite the enthusiasm of the audience who was in a different state of interaction, then Angham filled the sides of the stage with romance by performing the song “I Love You”, through which she expressed music and words that made the audience recall their beautiful memories, as the song touched the conscience with everything in it, and then returned To Gulf singing through the song “I Slow Down on Ali,” and the poet Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsen’s masterpiece “Prank,” through which she restored calm to the theater hall, but the end of the song made the audience applaud her greatly, as she expressed pain and injury through her words.
Angham continued to perform her Gulf songs, and presented “Muteem” in which she showcased her abilities in Gulf singing, and enchanted the audience with her voice and performance. Then she sang “Impossible”, bringing the enthusiasm back to the stage once more following minutes of calm, accompanied by the song “Njoum Al-Layl”, with which the audience interacted. With singing and clapping, she spread a lot of positivity throughout the stage through this song.
Angham stopped for a few minutes, then performed the song “Ashan To Satisfy You”, then “They Hurt You” in the Khaleeji language, then various songs continued, including “A Thousand Sorry, Forget regarding you, I will wish him well, Know her with me, We forgot to live, You remained alone, Give me a look, Selfish, Sir, I pray to you, “Hello, I will write you a pledge. I hope you understand me.” The concert concluded at 1:30 a.m. amid great applause from the audience, who wanted her to continue on stage more.
After the end of the concert, Angham met with the media professionals backstage, and expressed her happiness to be the opening star of the “Laylat Omar” festival with two successive concerts and not one, and she said: “I have become part of Laylat Omar, and I feel that all those in charge of it are my brothers,” praising the organization and management of producer Abdulaziz Al-Zaidi. For the parties he organizes.
In her response to Al-Seyassah’s question regarding having decided the battle for the title of “Voice of Egypt” in her favor, Angham said: Anyone who sings well and with distinction is “Voice of Egypt.”
