The Angers coach has decided to field a team without a real professional striker. Le Paul, Diony and Niane start on the bench.

The match started at a good pace with both teams trying to get closer to the penalty area. The Angevins got into the match well.

Saïd opens the scoring for Lens. Sotoca recovers a ball in the area and passes back to Saïd who shoots while turning and deceives Fofana. 28′ 0-1 The Angevin Defense was a little static in this phase of the game.

Angers played on a level playing field with Lens, had some strong moments, but only had one real chance.

Huge opportunity for Lens. Lens hit the post twice. On a cross from Chavez, on the right side, Sotoca rises and places a cross header on the post. The ball comes back to Saïd who shoots and finds the base of the post. 43′ Angers had a close call.

The referee whistles half-time with the score at 0-1 for Lens, who were more realistic. Angers nevertheless had a good first half and managed to press high.

Despite a late-match domination by Angers, Lens managed to keep its advantage. Angers still needs to adapt to Ligue 1. Tonight’s match remains encouraging, however.
