The Angels, to which Shohei Ohtani belongs, announced on the 1st (Japan time 2nd) that Griffin Canning was placed on the 15-day injured list (IL) with a strained right calf. It will be applied retroactively from July 29 (July 30). Promoted pitcher Victor Mederos from 2A Rocket City.

Canning, 27, started his fourth season on the injured list, but returned to the majors on April 12 (13). He pitched in 16 games, going 6-4 with a 4.46 ERA. He tied for second on the team with six wins behind Ohtani with nine wins.

Trout, Rendon, Ward and other injured players continue to hit the team. At the moment, 18 players are in the IL out of the 40-man quota premised on major participation.
