(AFP, Kyiv, 30th) Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie suddenly appeared in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on the 30th to meet displaced refugees.

Angelina Jolie, 46, is a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), but it is unclear whether she is visiting Ukraine in that capacity.

Lviv Oblast Governor Maxim Kozytski wrote on Telegram that “this visit was too unexpected for all of us”, posting Angelina Jolie playing with children and Photos and videos taken with volunteers.

Kozytsky said Angelina Jolie went to the hospital to visit children injured in the attack on the Kramatorsk train station when a Russian missile attack killed more than 50 civilians trying to flee the fighting in eastern Ukraine .

Angelina Jolie also spoke with volunteers who provide psychological counseling to displaced refugees. Since Russia launched its military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, more than 7.7 million people have been internally displaced in Ukraine, and another 5.4 million have fled abroad.

According to a video posted by Lviv resident Maya Pidhoretska on Facebook, Angelina Jolie, dressed casually and low-key, later showed up at a cafe in Lviv. Pidhoretska said, “I am drinking coffee, I am Witnessing Angelina Jolie in Lviv”.
