Angela Lansbury, the actress who gave life to the crime reporter, died

“The children of Lady Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Los Angeles at 1:30am today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday.” The family explained through an official statement.

Lansbury’s most important role was undoubtedly his leading role in the series “crime reporter” (Murder, She Wrote), which had more than 12 seasons and gave him 12 Emmy nominations, although he never won the statuette. On stage, the actress garnered four Tony Award statuettes, including one for her work in an adaptation of Sweeny Todd.

But although that series ended in 1996, Lansbury’s career began 50 years earlier in a wide variety of productions, which earned him three Oscar nominations (Gaslight, The Picture of Dorian Gray y The Manchurian Candidate). In addition, she did work as a voice actress in “Beauty and the Beast” y “Anastasia”.

Among his last works were his works in the animated film of The Grinch and Mary Poppins Returns. Her latest movie will have her playing herself in Glass Onion, the sequel to Knives Out.
