Encouraging sports practice at an early age and the values it implies is the objective sought by the unprecedented Under-20 Training Championship launched by the Chillán Amateur Football Association (ANFA Chillán).
More and more children are interested in playing soccer and socializing with their peers.
For this reason, explains Carlos San Martín, president of ANFA Chillán, they planned this competition that will serve to train from the grassroots the promises of local amateur soccer who later become part of larger series.
“We were motivated to create this under-12 training series championship. The idea is that all children from the under-12 series of sports clubs, who are registered in amateur football or who are regarding to register, can participate,” San Martín details at the outset, before delving into the modality of the tournament. .
“It is played the same as if it were a normal championship. A cup will be disputed. The matches are being played at the ANFA Chillán stadium and on the Deportivo San Martín field.”
Great enthusiasm
San Martín reveals that following the premiere of the contest, many people are coming to the fields, because “it is the family that is involved in supporting children in sports practice.
“There is enough. I never thought the championship would catch on so much. We have 14 teams participating every Saturday,” he says.
Programming
This Saturday a new date is disputed.
On the Deportivo Lucero field, in the Cruz Martínez Town, at 9 a.m., El Sauce and Lautaro play, at 10 Lucero vs Real Oriente, San Miguel with Estrella del Pacífico at 11 a.m. and Unión will face San Martín at noon .
Meanwhile, at the ANFA stadium, simultaneously, at the same times, they will play respectively, December 21 with Nacional, Unión Española vs Irene Frei, Avance with Canterita Roja and Cóndor with Chillán Viejo.
The success of the unprecedented championship lies in the integration of several children who, for various reasons, might not play in amateur soccer. Encouraging them to play and share within a framework of respect for the rules is intended to be the first step, so that tomorrow, when they are adults, they do not tolerate violence on the amateur soccer fields.
