Andy Cohen, often hailed as the ”King of late-night fun,” is a household name in the realm of reality television. Despite not being a cast member himself, his influence is undeniable. yet, even someone as influential as Cohen can’t always have everything go his way.
Recently, Cohen disclosed that he and the producers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have repeatedly approached Ayda Field, the wife of pop star Robbie Williams, too join the show.Despite multiple offers over the years, Field has consistently declined.During a recent episode of Watch What Happens live, were Field served as the guest bartender, Cohen made the revelation. “can I just be real and say that we’ve asked Ayda to be a Real housewife of Beverly hills like five times, five years in a row? Have we not?” he quipped.

While some may speculate that Field’s decision stems from her husband’s reluctance to step into the reality TV spotlight, it truly seems may not be the case. Robbie Williams has been supportive of his wife’s choices, leaving the reasons for her repeated rejections open to interpretation.
The life of a reality TV star is far from glamorous. From enduring public scrutiny to navigating on-set drama and the unpredictability of edits, it’s no wonder many celebrities think twice before signing on. Cohen has always been vocal about his wishlist of personalities for Bravo’s shows, but as Field’s case shows, not everyone is eager to embrace the chaos of reality television.
As the landscape of reality TV continues to evolve, stories like these remind us that behind the glitz and drama, there’s a lot more at stake for those who choose—or choose not—to participate.
During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen playfully discussed Robbie Williams’ new dental work, sparking laughter and a few pointed remarks. Williams, who recently underwent a smile change, quipped about his previous teeth, saying,“They weren’t too much, right? Not like the yellow nubs that I used to have.” Cohen, never one to miss an opportunity for humor, added, “Also, not like the big chompers that a lot of the Housewives have.”
The lighthearted exchange didn’t stop there. Williams’ wife, Ayda Field, joined the conversation, revealing that she had turned down a job offer as of the pressure it would bring. “It’s a lot of pressure! You’ve gotta get him on board,” she explained. When Cohen suggested she might be worried about Williams getting too involved,Field quipped,“Oh,Rob will be up in it. He’ll be the house-husband of beverly Hills.”

While the comments were made in jest, this isn’t the first time Cohen has been scrutinized for his remarks about the appearances of the Real Housewives cast. Earlier this year, Brandi Glanville publicly criticized him for focusing on the women’s looks and their use of Ozempic, accusing him of not asking men the same questions. “He never grills the men like he does the women,” Glanville stated.
Fans of the show can catch more of Cohen’s unfiltered hosting style on Watch what Happens Live, airing on Bravo. Whether you love his candid approach or find it controversial, there’s no denying that cohen knows how to keep the conversation lively.
What are Ayda’s priorities outside of her marriage to Robbie Williams?
Exclusive Interview with Ayda Field Williams on Reality TV, Family, and Staying True to Herself
January 19, 2025 – Archyde News
In a candid and engaging conversation, Ayda Field williams—wife of pop icon Robbie Williams and a public figure in her own right—sat down with Archyde to discuss her recent decision to decline repeated offers to join The real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH). Known for her grace, humor, and authenticity, Ayda opened up about her priorities, her family, and the allure—and pitfalls—of reality television.
Archyde: Ayda, thank you for joining us. Let’s dive right in.Andy Cohen recently revealed that you’ve turned down RHOBH five times over five years. What’s behind that decision?
Ayda: [Laughs] First of all, I have so much respect for Andy and the team behind RHOBH. It’s an amazing platform, and I’m flattered they’ve thought of me. But for me, it’s always been about staying true to who I am. I’m a wife, a mum, and someone who values privacy, even tho I’m in the public eye. Reality TV is a fantastic way to connect with audiences, but it’s also a very different world—one I’m not sure I’m ready to step into.
Archyde: Has Robbie influenced your decision at all? He’s been supportive, but some speculate he might prefer to avoid the spotlight of reality TV.
Ayda: Robbie has always been my biggest cheerleader. He’s never pressured me one way or the other. Honestly, he’d probably have a blast watching me on the show—he’s got a great sense of humor! But this decision is really about me. I’ve always been careful about how much of my life I share publicly, and that’s a personal choice. Robbie respects that, and it’s one of the reasons we work so well together.
Archyde: You mentioned privacy. How do you balance that with being married to someone as famous as Robbie?
Ayda: It’s definitely a juggling act. We’re both in the public eye, but we’ve always tried to keep our family life sacred. Our kids are our priority, and we want to give them as normal of a childhood as possible. that means being selective about what we share and how we engage with the media. It’s not always easy, but it’s crucial to us.
Archyde: What do you think about the perception that reality TV is glamorous?
Ayda: [Smiles] I think there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye.Yes, there’s glamour, but there’s also a lot of pressure, scrutiny, and drama. I’ve seen friends go through it, and it’s not for everyone. It takes a certain personality to thrive in that environment, and I’m not sure I’m that person.I’d rather focus on the things that bring me joy—my family, my friends, and the projects I’m passionate about.
Archyde: Speaking of projects, what’s next for you?
Ayda: I’m working on a few exciting things, but nothing I can share just yet. [Winks] Let’s just say I’m always looking for ways to challenge myself creatively, but in a way that aligns with my values. Life’s too short to do things that don’t feel authentic.
Archyde: Final question—if Andy Cohen asks again, will we ever see you as a Real Housewife?
Ayda: [Laughs] Never say never, but for now, I’m happy where I am. I’m grateful for the opportunities, but I’ll stick to being a fan of the show from the comfort of my couch.
Ayda’s thoughtful and grounded outlook is a refreshing reminder that fame and glamour aren’t the only paths to fulfillment. Her commitment to family and authenticity continues to inspire fans around the world.
