The president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, Alex Reed on LiveNews, talks regarding the next day in PASOK…
“The reaction of executives in relation to the result of the European elections was symmetrical,” said Nikos Androulakis, speaking for PASOK, at the beginning of his interview with Nikos Evagelatos.
“There were issues of lack of communication and sometimes it was not clearly seen as issues. The point is to see the big picture,” he said.
“I was on the side of many Greeks who wanted a public, non-state character for the Universities. Our positions may not have passed but these are separate issues. What is PASOK today? When I took it over it was at 8% today it is at 13% and he has settled his debts. Step by step, PASOK has changed course. With me, PASOK went on another track,” he said.
“I’m asking for a fair assessment so that we don’t tear down what we built with effort,” said the president of PASOK meaningfully.
“Our opponents are losing strength. You know, reaching people takes a lot of work. Wishful thinking is good, but it’s also good to be realistic. I aim to grow in the new generation but also in the urban centers, among the poor people as a socialist party. I’m ready to do this job.”
“All candidates will be judged on both their proposals and their attitudes. I don’t want a catwalk of nominations. There is value in suggesting things… I want a process of suggestions, positions and criticism. What was it that differentiated them from my proposals? Both the member and the friend will evaluate who is walking the runway.”
When asked regarding Haris Doukas, he said: “I really have a duty to guard the process, that it be with unity and a perspective for PASOK. I will also judge behaviors and choices. The citizens will judge us. I don’t want to get into a confrontation. What has been going on for 3 weeks now discredits the efforts of the people of PASOK. I’m not getting into a confrontation because I’m going to speak politically. If someone has political disagreements, then the citizens will evaluate them,” he said.
In response to a question regarding interests, lunches and dinners: “I was not taken by any hand to make me an MEP and president. If you are not autonomous from interests, you cannot serve the Greek people…”.
