LOS ANGELES — Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins is available for Game 6 despite suffering a left costal cartilage fracture that jeopardized his status for the win-or-go-home matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Wiggins was listed as questionable until a few hours before the game.
Wiggins was instrumental in the Warriors’ Game 5 victory on Wednesday, finishing with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, seven rebounds and five assists. Coach Steve Kerr called it Wiggins’ best game since he returned from a two-month absence at the start of the playoffs.
It was the third highest scoring postseason game of his career, behind his 27 and 26 point games in the last postseason.
With the Warriors trailing the Lakers 3-2 in the series and facing elimination once once more, the absence of Wiggins, both on offense and defense, where he has been guarding LeBron James, would be a huge loss for Golden State.
