Andrew Tate to be extradited to the UK

The arrest of Andrew and Tristan Tate took place following a law firm tipped off authorities that the brothers may have planned to flee the country. The arrest warrant that has been issued concerns sexual offenses that must have taken place between 2012 and 2015, writes Sky News.

On Tuesday followingnoon, a court in Bucharest gave the green light for the extradition of Andrew Tate to the UK. But this will only happen once another court case in which Tate is involved has been concluded. And it can take years, according to news agency AFP.

The law firm that tipped off authorities is representing four women who accuse Andrew Tate of rape and sexual assault. It says they were tipped off that Tate was planning to flee Romania, where he and his brother are facing charges of rape and human trafficking.

“We wrote to the British police to alert them and urge them to immediately issue an arrest warrant in Romania and deportation to the UK,” writes law firm McCue Jury and Partners on X.

The former professional kickboxer Andrew Tate was noticed in the media as early as 2016 when he participated in the British version of the television program “Big brother”. He was kicked out of the show following a clip was released showing him hitting a woman with a belt. Both Tate and the woman denied that it was an assault, according to The Guardian.

In 2022, Andrew Tate gained enormous traction for his misogynistic statements, including that female rape victims “bear some responsibility”.

Tate was banned from Tiktok, Youtube and Facebook in 2022. However, his video clips, which targeted young men, continued to spread through other accounts that reshared the content.

Andrew Tate has wit several times talked regarding how he ran a so-called “cam girl” business where women who film themselves with a webcam are paid, sometimes by the viewers, to perform sexual acts. Several of the charges facing the brothers in Romania, including human trafficking, relate to such activities.

Tate, who has long mixed conspiracy theories into his messages, claims the allegations once morest him are fabricated by a global power elite.
