Andrew McCutchen agrees with Brewers (report)

Veteran outfielder Andrew McCutchen has agreed to a deal with the Brewers, according to MLB Network correspondent Jon Heyman. The team has not confirmed the news.

When the offseason began, the Phillies paid McCutchen $3 million in severance pay instead of exercising his $15 million club option for 2022, making him a free agent. In three seasons with Philadelphia, McCutchen hit .237/.343/.444, with an above-average OPS+ of 109. He suffered a season-ending torn ligament in his left knee on June 3, 2019. but he has stayed healthy in the last two seasons.

At the age of 34 in 2021, McCutchen showed he still has power by hitting 27 home runs, his most since 2017, reaching the 20-run mark for the ninth time in his career.
