The British newspaper “The Sun” reported that King Charles III of Britain has cut the 250,000 pounds subsidy from his brother, Prince Andrew, 66, that he was receiving from the late Queen Elizabeth, which means that Andrew will struggle to incur the costs of running his royal palace in Windsor. However, he is determined to stay put.
One of Andrew’s close associates said that he had spent 20 years in this palace, and that he was awaiting the birth of his grandson to his daughter soon.
This follows the report’s indication that Prince William, the new heir to the throne, and the Prince of Wales and his family are due to move into the house following instructions from Charles earlier that his brother Andrew move to Frogmore Country Palace; Where Prince Harry and his wife, Megan, used to live in it, and they set a date to vacate the royal residence next September.
The report indicated that Andrew is very keen to reach a compromise in this regard.
Andrew was forced to step down from royal duties in the wake of the Virginia Jeffrey Epstein scandal last year, for which he paid a £12m settlement.
