“Leave your job to one of the guys,” the host tells his general producer on the live show.

Peruvian television recently experienced a moment of disbelief. In full live broadcast, the controversial presenter Andrés Hurtado, fired his general producer, during the television program in which they were broadcasting the Miss Peru 2023 gala, the events occurred on Saturday, June 3.
Now both the presenter and the producer have spoken and in Peru the issue continues to be the center of many discussions, since it was apparently a montage, although it unleashed the fury of hundreds of people.
The facts that everyone is talking regarding
Hurtado was in the transmission of Miss Peru in his program “Today is Saturday with Andrés”, asking each of the applicants a question, he asked one of the participants following reading in his script “Which do you consider to be your greatest average?”, to which she responded with doubt “average?”, questioning the formulation of the question.
The presenter turned in search of an answer and affirmed “That’s right, or is the question asked wrong?”, he said, and caught the attention of production. The presenter surprisingly leaves all the contestants waiting and says “come on”, the general producer approaches and Hurtado tells him: “I’m not going to look bad as a host. The world must be witnessing ”and he asks the cameraman to strike out the script, in which the word“ medium ”is indeed written instead of“ fear ”.
Then the presenter looks at him and says: “Leave your position to one of the boys.” Hurtado returns to the place he occupied among the beauty queens and affirms: “excuse me, here the heads are cut off immediately, I cannot allow it”. He then turns around once more, surely noting that the producer still has work to do and says: “finish the program and quit your job.”
The news has reached many foreign media, so the presenter has spoken from that point of view on the subject, in his most recent edition of his program: “What did you think of the world commotion?” Andrés Hurtado told his audience and then added: “There are people who believe and don’t believe, but I don’t care regarding them. The million dollar question is I do this show and I owe it to the public, the public knows the truth of what is happening here, ”he added.
Furthermore, he added: “I have the right to complain live, you have seen the number of times that there are errors here, like in commercial breaks, right?”
Hurtado added that he was not going to answer the questions from other Peruvian television channels: “And what makes me laugh the most is that some Peruvian channels deny it, as if I were going to answer them. I only answer Telemundo; Italy, Spain, Madrid. Now I have a presentation in Nigeria, on Tuesday I will be in South Africa and on Wednesday I have an interview in Nueva Guinea”, he stated.
He also added that he does not care what they say regarding him in the whole world: “They have cut me worldwide as they wanted, but I don’t care. You know how I am.”
For his part, José Malpartida, the general producer of the Andrés Hurtado program who was fired live, spoke out following the incident, according to the newspaper The Republic from Peru.
in discussion with Telemundo, the producer recently stated: “Thank you for allowing me to communicate with Mr. Andrés. I have known Andrés for more than 10 years, we put together the program, we produce it together week by week and we have a relationship and friendship beyond work (…) But this time he did get out of hand. That question was misspelled because of me, wasn’t it? I saw it as a mistake.”
