Andreas Helgstrand’s company sued by American property developer

The Global Equestrian Group, which is owned by Andreas Helgstrand and the capital fund Waterland, is at odds with the American real estate developer and businessman Mark Bellissimo.

This is written by the horse page Eurodressage.

The ambiguity stems from the fact that in 2021 the Global Equestrian Group bought Wellington International, from Mark Bellissimo. The company owns facilities and operates a number of prestigious horse competitions and events in Florida.

Later, Global Equestrian Group tried to expand, but Mark Bellissimo would not sell the surrounding land to Global Equestrian Group.

In the summer and autumn of 2023, Waterland decided that the Global Equestrian Group should part with the American enterprise.

However, Mark Bellissoimo’s lawyer believes that this is not in accordance with the purchase agreement, which should have stated that Global Equestrian Group should retain all equestrian assets for 5-7 years and make a significant billion investment to improve and expand Wellington International.

Now Mark Bellissimo has filed a lawsuit, not to get the riding assets back, but to sell to a “long-term player.”

Mark Belissimo’s lawyer also believes that there was an agreement that Belissimo should have the first option to acquire land or activities in any case of divestment.

According to the prosecutors, Global Equestrian Group has stopped paying rent and owes $1.2 million.
