Georgson has spent two seasons in Malmö FF with three different roles. The 42-year-old has served as assistant coach, sports director and temporary head coach.
He has also been active in the English clubs Brentford, Southampton and Arsenal.
Most recently, Georgson comes from a stint as head coach in Norwegian Lilleström.
Now he returns to the British Isles.
The Swede will be part of Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff at Manchester United. The big club confirms this on its website.
Paying close to four million kroner
According to local paper Manchester Evening News pays Premier League giant Lilleström close to four million kroner for Georgson’s services.
In Manchester, Georgson will work with Steve McClaren and Darren Fletcher as well as new coaches Jelle ten Rouwelaar, Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The newspaper writes that Georgson will be responsible for the fixed situations.
Manchester United finished eighth in the Premier League and won the FA Cup the previous season.
Head coach Erik ten Hag has extended his contract until 2026.
