The cast of this national production, now in its second season, can be seen on Caracol Televisión and the streaming platform Disney+. It has brought several updates to the story and its actors.
Known for her role as Yadira Pacheco, Andrea Guzmán has shared a touching story about how this project not only made a difference in her career but also saved her life. In an interview with the magazine Vea, the Bogotá actress revealed that during the filming in 2001, she discovered a small mass in her neck while preparing for a scene.
At just 22 years old, Andrea faced the fear and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis. “It was 2001, and I was very scared because the diagnosis of thyroid cancer indicated that surgery would be urgent. I didn’t understand how this was happening to me, especially since there was no family history, and I was a healthy person,” the actress shared.
Fortunately, the surgery was successful and did not require additional treatments like chemotherapy. However, Guzmán had to adapt to a new reality, taking lifelong medication to compensate for her thyroid function.
“At first, it was hard. It changes your lifestyle; the first few months you feel depressed, you get angry, but then you adjust; they give you the exact amount of medication you need,” Andrea explained.

Health Setbacks
“At that time, the intervention was to cut a piece of my neck, and fortunately, it was successful, and after the treatment, I was free of the cells,” she recounted. This second battle reaffirmed the importance of maintaining a positive and resilient attitude in the face of adversity.
Beyond these health challenges, Andrea Guzmán has experienced significant moments in her personal and professional life. She married Italian Paolo Miscia and had two daughters, Micaela and Martina. Additionally, she had the opportunity to return to her beloved character Yadira Pacheco in a new season of “Pedro el escamoso,” which was a moving and reflective experience for her.
“Seeing all my mompirris again was very exciting,” she commented, fondly remembering the impact that the series has had on her life.
