Anderson: Tourigny agrees with St-Louis

Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis said Monday morning he had asked forward Josh Anderson to slow down his game and think a little more on the ice.

And even though its production has declined recently, St-Louis is convinced that it is a small step backwards and in fact a big step forward.

Asked regarding this in the evening, the head coach of the Arizona Coyotes, André Tourigny, admitted to agreeing with his counterpart on this subject.

“Martin and I often think alike…guys like Josh Anderson, it’s flashyit’s got speed, it’s powerful, but sometimes it’s just as hard to play once morest as it is to play with.

“Reading the game is reading your teammates, reading the opponent, reading the opponent’s options, reading how to support your teammate, reading the spaces… and that I agree with Martin, when not is not first nature in your gameyou start thinking on the ice and when you think on the ice, you don’t move, so it slows your pace and you’re a fraction of a second behind.
