Anders Torstensson ahead of the away match against Hammarby IF – Mjällby AIF

Loss against IF Elfsborg after four straight wins – What insights do you take with you from the previous round into this match?

Elfsborg is a really strong team that has been given a new lease of life under Hiljemark. Especially at home. I don’t think we play a bad game, but we can’t afford to concede the goals we do. Especially not immediately after kick-off. We have a really good period in the second half of the first half and also have a lot of the ball in the second half, but then we lack the ability to get enough big chances. We don’t have the margins with us and lose against a more efficient team.

Hammarby IF are struggling to regain form, with only one win in their last five matches – What do you expect for the match picture?

You can do whatever you want with statistics. Regardless of the recent matches, Hammarby is a really strong team at home and it looks like there will be a large crowd. I expect a match picture where we are more connected from the start and can continue to be aggressive in our defensive play and be more distinct when the chances arise. We also need to challenge Hammarby in possession in order not to give them momentum. And of course keep an eye on Besara (if he plays).

What has been the focus in the preparations for this match?

We have continued to focus on our way of working both offensively and defensively and of course also worked tactically to remove Hammarby’s strengths and exploit their weaknesses. I want to see a Mjällby who are hard to face.
