Anderlecht’s Transfer Troubles: The Future of Alexis Flips

2023-12-23 11:24:00

Anderlecht wants to downsize its core in a few positions, particularly among the creative elements. Alexis Flips, who arrived this summer from Reims for a check for 4 million, is already on his way out. It will no longer be Mauve for the second part of the season. Lacking playing time, the 23-year-old Frenchman wants to get back on the pitch. Several options are available to him.

Alexis Flips did not have the playing time he hoped for in Anderlecht.

Reims is pushing hard to get its player back. From the first doubts regarding his place in the 11, Flips was able to count on the support of Will Still. The Belgian coach of Reims has never hidden his admiration for the playmaker and would like him to be repatriated for the end of the season. The Rémois are negotiating a dry loan without a purchase option. Which would allow Flips to try to convince Brian Riemer to give him a chance next summer.

Mallorca is also in the mix. The current 14th in La Liga is looking to strengthen itself and sees Flips as possible added value. The Mallorcans would like to transfer the player permanently. Anderlecht wants to get back what it has invested but knows it will be complicated. The solution currently being considered is a loan with an option to purchase.

David Friio also keeps an eye on Flips. Lyon’s new sporting director is looking for reinforcements to bring OL up the rankings following a complicated start to the season. However, no negotiations are yet underway with the Ligue 1 club.
