ANDE increases energy distribution capacity in the Metropolitan Area

Asunción, IP Agency.- The National Electricity Administration (ANDE) is carrying out works for new power lines throughout the country, and especially in the Metropolitan Area, to have more distribution capacity.Among the works in the Metropolitan Area are two new feeders for the Molino neighborhood substation in Luque, which will supply the growth in demand in the city.

There are about 20 kilometers for the two new power lines and they will benefit about 10,000 customers, indicated the president of ANDE, Félix Sosa.

«At the national level we have 100 works similar to this one. In Asunción and the Metropolitan Area we have 13 similar works as a priority to have more energy distribution capacity,” he told Paraguay TV.

The total investment is close to USD 530 million at the national level, including works on transmission lines and substations for more than USD 300 million, and increased distribution and conductor change capacity for USD 226 million.

With the works to increase capacity in the substations, transmission capacity will be increased by 11%.

Changes from naked drivers to semi-protected drivers will also be made, reducing out-of-service incidents and improving service by 80%.
