Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and their friends are back! This Thursday, June 22, the American streaming service Max is launching the first two episodes of season 2 of “And Just Like That…”, a reboot of “Sex And The City”, which celebrated its 25th anniversary on June 6. “And Just Like That…” arrived in December 2021 in the United States, highlighting the trendiest New Yorkers on the planet, and now in their fifties. But as Miranda tells Carrie during this new season, there’s no reason why they can’t continue to make the most of their beautiful life and its pleasures, starting with sex and romance! Like “Sex and the City” in its time, “And Just Like That…” shows women comfortable in their skin and their time, and very well off financially. They are therefore not the image of all women, but inspire many, even if, for a lot of critics, they are unbearable because egocentric and too spoiled by existence. We don’t deny that, but we still found this second season to be very pleasant, of which we saw seven out of eleven episodes. So we haven’t seen the one that marks the “return” of Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) to the “Sex and the City” universe. His character now lives in London but we “find” him on the phone with his old friend Carrie, whose interpreter, Sarah Jessica Parker, is the reason why Cattrall left this same universe. The two women have been estranged for at least seven years. Damage !
As you will see, these “girls” still have very derisory little problems in these new episodes, the content of which we reveal in the following lines. Miranda
: Played by Cynthia Nixon, who directed the 5th episode, the redhead moved to Los Angeles with her new love, Che, who is non-binary and played by Sara Ramirez. Che is preparing his own sitcom, and wants Tony Danza, the unforgettable Tony from “Madame est servie”, to play his father. But the problem is that he is not Mexican but Italian. Finally, a solution is found, and it is the occasion for the fans of “And Just Like That…” to review, briefly, the sympathetic actor. In the city of angels, Miranda, who shows off topless at one point, feels neglected and goes to clean beaches with volunteers. There, she loses her phone and it’s a certain Lyle who comes to get her. He is still Che’s husband, which she was completely unaware of, and is played by the sexy Oliver Hudson, son of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson. Later, in New York, Che, Lyle and Miranda begin to sleep together… Eventually, the relationship of Che – whose sitcom is a furnace – and Miranda ends. The latter, who lives with her ex Steve (David Eigenberg) and their son Brady, finds her freedom with joy and has a date, on February 14, with a woman keen on literature. But what she thought was a beautiful fireworks display turns into a wet firecracker… cat pee!

Charlotte
: In this new season, the candid little bourgeois personified by Kristin Davis is very busy with her… children! His biological daughter Rose (Alexa Swinton), who is non-binary and calls herself Rock, now lands a modeling job for Ralph Lauren, and suddenly, here she is, turning into an agent! But his efforts do not prevent his offspring from quickly throwing in the towel! In addition, his daughter Lily (Cathy Ang) is growing up, increasingly imposing her talent as a composer and singer of existential songs, and wants to take action with her boyfriend. But on D-Day, she realizes she has no condoms, and Charlotte walks all over New York under heavy snow to find her some. But when this brave and overly devoted mother thinks she’s living her last moments after swallowing a piece of marijuana cake, she tells her husband Harry (Evan Handler) that she wants to get back to her own life, and take the job at a art gallery that has just been offered to him.

Lisa and Naya
: Arrivals in the universe of “Sex and the city” with “And Just Like That…”, these two African-Americans are not left out in this season 2. The first, the documentary filmmaker Lisa Todd Wexley, played by Nicole Ari Parker (“Empire”), had three children with her wealthy banker husband Herbert (Christopher Jackson). Kids taking their piano lessons at the same place as Charlotte’s. Here, she clashes with her teenage boy Henry (Alexander Bello), whose new girlfriend she can’t stand, whom she considers to be very inconsiderate. And makes it clear to him! As for Doctor Naya Wallace (Karen Pittman, seen in “The Americans”, “The Morning Show” or “Luke Cage”), who was Miranda’s professor at Columbia Law School, she is in the middle of a divorce. And she refuses the advances of a handsome stranger played by Gary Dourdan, the Darrick Brown of the “Experts”.
Seema Patel
: Glamorous as anything, Carrie’s new good friend, played by Sarita Choudhury (“The Girl and the Water”, “Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2”) trashes her new lover because she can’t stand that ‘they still live under the same roof as his ex-wife. Her hairdresser tells her that she’s too picky and that’s why she’s alone, a thought that pisses her off and makes her slam the salon door. But she can only agree with her hairdresser, and besides, she comes back to him so that he can “correct” a completely missed haircut. When she meets a man who has to use a pump to get an erection, she is tolerant and decides to keep him. ” He makes me laugh ! she told Carrie.

Carrie
: In the first episode of season 1, our favorite fashionista lost the man of her life, Mr Big (Chris Noth), struck down by a heart attack. When season 2 starts, she seems to be doing a little better since a new man has access to her bed… This is the sexy Franklin, who produces the Podcast of which she is the star and who talks about the sex of the most uninhibited of manners. Only here it is: he can only spend one night a week at her house, and she only wants somersaults and nothing else. Suddenly, someone reproaches him for objectifying the man. When her Podcast is forced to stop, he makes her realize that it’s not enough for him, and so she ends that relationship as well. But she took a first step towards a change! She’s written a whole book about Big’s loss and the grief she’s going through, and when she has to read it to make an “audio book” version of it, she totally blocks on the chapter going back to when she got it. found lifeless. Devastated, she invents that she has caught the Covid and that we will have to find an actress to read the book for her. But the people who assist her in these recordings suspend them for a week so that she can come back to them. On the other hand, she falls on Enid Frick, who had made her work when she was editor-in-chief of “Vogue”. This is embodied by Candice Bergen, and thanks to this character, she has the immense privilege of meeting the famous journalist Gloria Steineim, who is now 89 years old, and is camped by… the real Gloria Steineim. Episode 7 is devoted to her reunion with her ex-lover Aidan Shaw, still played by John Corbett – husband of Bo Derek in the city – who has just celebrated his 62nd birthday. Aidan doesn’t want to go to Carrie’s apartment after a dinner party that went well but started a little late. Indeed, that’s where their story ended, so he wants to take her to a hotel. Between them, the flame is directly rekindled.
As a reminder, in Belgium, it is Be TV which is lucky enough to “hold” “And Just Like That…”, and will therefore soon be offering its second season. Which will also be released by TF1!
