Gaza – A 2,000-year-old Roman cemetery discovered in Gaza last year contains 125 tombs, the Palestinian Ministry of Antiquities said. The skeletons in the graves were found to be undamaged and 2 graves contained rarely seen black coffins. There are indications that this place has been a commercial and cultural center since ancient times. The Roman cemetery was discovered in February last year during site preparation for an Egyptian-assisted housing project.
