The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) announced this Wednesday (22) that providers that acquired lots in the 3.5 GHz band will be able to request the licensing and activation of 5G stations in the 3.5 GHz band in over 195 municipalities. .
According to the agency, orders can be placed by operators from March 27, 2023, the date on which companies will be able to disclose to consumers in the affected regions regarding the activations in the released municipalities.
Anatel highlighted that the release of the band does not mean that 5G networks will be installed immediately in the locations. The anticipated installation of fifth generation stations in these cities depends on the individual planning of each service provider.
The decision was taken this Wednesday by the Group for Monitoring the Implementation of Solutions for Interference Problems in the 3,625 to 3,700 MHz band (Gaispi) and follows the guidelines of the 5G public notice, Anatel stressed.
