Analyzing the Lineup and Training of the Canadian NHL Team: Season Start Predictions and Player Positions

2023-10-09 15:23:44

The Canadian trained this morning. With just over 48 hours to go before the start of the season, we can give importance to the lines we see because the testing season is coming to an end.

But should we take what we see for granted? cash? Not necessarily.

That said, we can see what is presented in front of us and tell ourselves that there is a chance that this is what we will see in two days in the Queen City at the first match of the season.

So it doesn’t look good for Michael Pezzetta, who didn’t have a regular trio in training.

Does this mean Josh Anderson will start the season on the first line? If so, I have a feeling it’s the default. A bit like during numerous tests in the past, therefore.

The second trio is really interesting. Really.

Obviously, the big loser in all this is Sean Monahan. In the absence of Christian Dvorak, it is he who inherits the center position from Tanner Pearson and Brendan Gallagher.

And Rafael Harvey-Pinard? He finds himself on a fourth line with Jake Evans and Jesse Ylönen. He’s going to have to work hard to make his place, from what we understand at the moment.

Defensively, the top-4 is not surprising. I can’t wait to see who will skip their turn among Arber Xhekaj, Jordan Harris and Justin Barron, but I think it will be Barron. Against Toronto, it can’t be Xhekaj.

For those who doubt it, Cayden Primeau really seems to be goalie #3.

Once once more: we take some and we leave some. But with Emil Heineman and Mattias Norlinder having been cut, we can think that Martin St-Louis is putting the finishing touches to his lineup.

Note also that Christian Dvorak trained with a non-contact jersey.

A lot of
