Madrid, Sep 27 (.).- The Competur alliance, formed by hospitality companies (Hosteleros de España), beer producers (Cerveceros de España) and the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (Cehat), has presented a system for determine how tourism contributes to social well-being.
Coinciding with the celebration this Wednesday of World Tourism Day, the organization has explained that what is baptized as the “Competur Index” will allow the analysis of different areas linked to the tourism industry and how efficient investment can contribute to improving the competitiveness of the sector and, therefore , the situation of the population of the destinations.
Its results will provide a qualitative point of view to the study carried out by Competur on the investment areas of tourism activity that have a greater positive impact on local development.
For its preparation, demographic factors, economic indicators and quality of life measurements will be analyzed, along with the direct, indirect and induced relationship of tourist activity on the above.
Competur invites citizens, companies, third sector organizations and public entities to participate in the monitoring and analysis of the meter results, given the importance of this activity, which contributes around 20% of Spanish GDP.
