Does Donald Trump really weigh 98 kg, as claimed by his criminal file, released by the Atlanta authorities? Many Americans are asking this Friday, a day following the former president of the United States refused to be weighed at the police station where he was briefly detained.

On social media, anonymous people who claim to weigh 98kg reacted by posting a snapshot of themselves, appearing much thinner than the mogul.

Some suggest that the real weight of the former president is probably closer to 115 or 120 kilos.

Although he was subjected to humiliating identification, including a photo, at the Fulton County (Georgia) jail on Thursday, Trump was authorized to provide his anthropometric data himself.

As stated, he measures 6.3 feet (1.90 meters) and weighs 215 pounds (regarding 98 kilograms).

The file that Donald Trump completed in the Atlanta prison was disclosed on social networks

“If Donald Trump weighs 200 pounds, as it says on his prison record, then I dated Halle Berry,” joked Bakari Sellers, a former Democratic lawmaker from South Carolina.

MSNBC posted a gallery of full-length portraits of Trump and compared them to similarly sized photos of sports legends.

At his supposed 98kg, Trump looks considerably fatter than American football players Tom Brady (1.93m, 102kg) and Lamar Jackson (1.88m, 98kg), or even boxer Mohamed Ali (1 .91 meters 97 kg).

MSNBC compared Trump to the weight and height of famous athletes

In January 2018, the White House physician claimed that the president was 6’3″ and weighed 220 pounds, bringing his body mass index to 29.9, just below the obesity threshold (30).

Since then, would Trump, who is rarely seen exercising and who claims to like hamburgers and sodas, have lost at least 20 pounds?

In the networks, many also ironize regarding the color of Trump’s hair, which he himself mentions in his criminal file as “Venetian blonde.”

Like any other defendant, the former US president was booked Thursday in an Atlanta prison, including a court photograph, in connection with the alleged attempt to rig the 2020 election.

During a session that lasted less than 30 minutes, Trump, 77, was indicted on 13 counts at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. Then the Republican, accused of conspiring with 18 other defendants to overturn the result of the 2020 election in the southern state, was released on $200,000 bail and left in a caravan for the airport.

Unlike his previous three indictments, Trump was not exonerated from posing for the mugshot. The image, in which he frowns at the camera, was distributed a few minutes later.

Speaking to reporters following his arrest, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination said it was a “very sad day for America” and accused his Democratic opponents of “election interference.”

“What has happened here is a travesty of justice,” he added. “I did not do anything wrong.”

Also Thursday, Trump switched lawyers in Georgia, replacing Drew Findling with Steven Sadow; a decision hitherto unexplained.

Trump faces four criminal cases, two at the federal level, in Washington and Florida (southeast), one in the state of New York and another in Georgia.

Each of these processes, however, brings him millions of dollars in donations, contributed by supporters convinced that he is the victim of a “witch hunt.”

Trump’s presentation to the Georgia authorities occurs following the first debate for the Republican primaries, held on Wednesday night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which the former president considered unnecessary to attend given his leadership in the polls.

“Why should I stay there for an hour or two (…), being harassed by people who shouldn’t even be presidential candidates?” he said in an interview to justify his rudeness.

Though absent, Trump commanded the debate’s spotlight, with all but two of the candidates saying they would support him as the party’s nominee even if he is convicted.
