Analyst predicts iPhone SE with Apple’s 5G modem only in 2025

In recent months, an elastic range of rumors concerning a (possible) next generation of the iPhone SE was reverberated. The development of the device would have even been canceled last year, according to the analyst. Ming-Chi Kuobut ended up being resumed in early 2023.

Kuo had also stated that the new device will have the same design as the iPhone 14, with a 6.1-inch screen and the long-awaited 5G modem developed by Apple itself. According to him, however, such a modem will only support frequencies below 6Hz and without the faster speeds of millimeter waves (mmWave).

Now the analyst Jeff Pufrom Haitong International Securities, endorsed this information, as seen by the MacRumors. Specifically, Pu mentioned that the modem developed by Apple will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, also known as TSMCconfirming what was said by Kuo.

He, however, disagreed with Kuo regarding the possible date of arrival of the new model, saying that the launch might only take place in 2025. Kuo had said that the new iPhone SE is expected to go into mass production in early 2024, which would imply a launch likely next year rather than 2025. AppleInsider recalled that the analyst does not have such a solid track record of successes.

It is worth remembering that the president of Qualcomm also said he expected Apple to launch its own 5G modem in 2024, which raises more doubts regarding the launch in 2025. Currently, Qualcomm components are used, although there is an expectation that Apple will succeed develop its modem since the company acquired the Intel division related to this area.
