Analysis reveals differences between fake and real iPhone 15 Pro Max

An analysis made by the channel Phone Repair Guru revealed a surprising level of detail that a replica of the iPhone 15 Pro Max presents. The video, published a few days agohighlights the similarities and differences between a fake model and a real one.

The counterfeit device arrives in packaging very similar to the genuine iPhone 15 Pro Max, with subtle differences in font and print quality. An important clue is the absence of the Apple logo on the fake box, visible under black light.

Physically, the counterfeit iPhone imitates the authentic model well, featuring a curved back and a comparable finish. However, a closer look reveals the larger-than-usual bottom bezel and the inferior quality of the front camera.

In terms of hardware, the counterfeit iPhone replicates the USB-C port, but lacks wireless charging and MagSafe. The device even tries to imitate iOS 17, including an Action button that works, but with (much) less refinement.

Differences in performance become more evident as the fake iPhone displays inaccurate colors and a grainy texture. The device also comes with a non-functional warranty option and other features that operate inefficiently.

Just this week, we commented that the Civil Police of Minas Gerais arrested a 24-year-old man for embezzlement. He is suspected of selling a counterfeit iPhone equipped with Android to one of the victims, who filed a complaint.
