The Hawks then buzzed into opposing territory without managing to tie the game. They even hit the post on a shot from Philipp Kurashev, skillfully fed by Connor Bedard.

With 0.4 seconds left, Michael McLeod scored his third of the season with an empty-net goal. A few minutes earlier, another empty-net goal was denied to the Devils due to an offside revised by a restart.

Earlier in the day, the Devils announced that Hughes would be out for a few games following falling once morest the boards on Friday. Head coach Lindy Ruff revealed that his star player’s condition would be re-evaluated on a weekly basis.
