In a statement by the Achaean Member of Parliament of the New Left Sia Anagnostopoulou, the following are mentioned:
The announcement by the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Ms. Adeilinis, about the Finding regarding the wiretapping brought back memories of other times. It refers both in terms of style and wording as well as in terms of content to the Decision on the assassination of Mr. Lambrakis (“no involvement of the Government was revealed”).
Today, 61 years after Lambrakis and 50 after the Restoration of Democracy, the Committee on Institutions and Transparency of the Hellenic Parliament was transformed, “thanks” to the ND party, into a “protector” of those who “protected” with their announcement and Conclusion government cover-up of wiretapping.
The governing majority, the cover-up majority that is, rejected the demands of the opposition, and of course the New Left, so that Ms. Adelinis and Mr. Zisis be summoned to the Committee on Institutions and Transparency, but also that the Hellenic Parliament be informed of Decision of the Supreme Court.
The rejection of the opposition’s demands by the governing majority is of course part of the “carbinet” attempt to cover up the government and the prime minister personally in the wiretapping scandal.
But we will not stop. If then, in the Lambrakis case, the late Prosecutor of Edra had exclaimed “light falling from a weakened electric column”, today the left, democratic parties will not stop until full light is shed on this scandal that hurts democracy and its institutions.
