Ana María González-Forero, new Secretary of the Interior of Cartagena | THE UNIVERSAL

The Mayor’s Office of Cartagena announced on Tuesday that Ana María González-Forero was appointed as the new Secretary of the Interior and Coexistence of Cartagena, as this medium had announced in previous days. Read: The District official who will be the next Secretary of the Interior

González-Forero is already doing joint work with the social communicator Paola Pianeta, who was in charge of the Secretary of the Interior until last week.

The new head of the unit is a political scientist from the National University of Columbia and a master’s degree in education from the National Pedagogical University.

González is a social entrepreneur and activist for inclusion and diversity. She co-founded FEM, a Colombian non-profit organization that defends the ethnic rights of indigenous and Afro populations. Additionally, she was chosen as a 2018/2019 Columbia University Obama Scholar.

She was also a tourist entrepreneur with Volunteer Hostel and Café Stepping Stone in Cartagena.
