An unusual dynasty of drivers lives in Shymkent – News of Kazakhstan and the world today

An unusual dynasty of drivers lives in Shymkent. Three generations of the Orazbaev family have been working in the passenger transportation system. Over the years of work, none of them has received a single fine for violating traffic rules, the bus depot noted, a 24KZ correspondent reports.

100 years of combined experience per family: a unique dynasty works in the Shymkent bus depot. The Orazbaevs are three generations behind the wheel of city buses. They pass on to each other not only driving skills and love for the profession, but also many driving stories.

Talgat Orazbaev, bus driver:

– This happened to me: in the evening, when I finished my schedule and was driving to the base, alone, I turned on the music, quietly driving. Suddenly someone runs up from behind: “Where have we arrived?” I got scared (laughs). It was already night.

Seeing their father’s love for the profession, sons Aidar and Zhandar followed in his footsteps. First, they got jobs at the bus depot as conductors, and now they drive hundreds of kilometers around the city every day behind the wheel of a bus. Zhandar works in Shymkent, and Aidar in Astana.

Zhandar Zhunsaliev, bus driver:

– It’s good that everything is automated now. The cameras work 360 degrees, and we see everything: how people enter and exit. We monitor the situation completely. The driver bears great responsibility for the health and safety of passengers.

The Orazbaev family has an impeccable reputation. None of them has ever been listed as violators of traffic rules, the fleet emphasizes. This is especially impressive if you remember the difficult conditions of city traffic.

Abdibek Ukibaev, Deputy Director of the passenger transportation company:

– Talgat Orazbaev and his sons have proven themselves to be exemplary drivers. Very responsible. To date, they have not been involved in any accidents.

Every day, city dwellers rush about their business, rarely thinking about those who provide them with transportation around the city. However, regular passengers know the drivers by sight.

Valentina Filippova, a resident of Shymkent:

– Let’s say you’re walking, you’re late, you’re running, and he’s standing there, waiting. One minute, he gets in and goes. Well done.

Now a new generation is growing up in the family, and the Orazbaevs are not against their grandchildren continuing the labor tradition. The public transport sector is experiencing a shortage of personnel, and every driver is worth his weight in gold.
