Like wildfire, a video of an alleged “Omani” plane was circulated on social media during the past hours, burning in the air before its pilot might land it safely.
After research and examination, it became clear that the clip was synthesized using a computer program.

After dozens of misleading publications claimed that the video of an Omani plane burning in the air, and then landing safely by the skill of the Sudanese-Canadian pilot, Captain, Saleh Mahmoud Fathi Metwally, from New Halfa, who took all the passengers out safely, the Saudi Anti-Rumors Authority confirmed that the video circulated once more titled “ Omani plane burning in the air” is not true at all.
She explained that the real video was produced by a “flight simulation program” called (X-Plane).
It is reported that the original version of the video was posted on a YouTube channel in January 2020.
