An old video documented in 1945 during the shaving of women’s heads in a public square in Paris and revealing the reason • Al Marsad newspaper

Al-Marsad Newspaper: A video clip, in good clarity, documented the way France punished women collaborating with German soldiers during World War II.

After France, with the help of the Allies, managed to liberate its lands and expel German soldiers, Paris decided to punish all traitors, including women who married occupiers or worked as spies.

The video clip showed that the French forces gathered women who worked or married German soldiers, and they shaved their hair in a public square.

The women accused of helping the German soldiers stood in a row, while the French forces shaved their hair, amid celebration and applause from those in the field.
