An Israeli app, SYNCH, is helping relief efforts in Turkey

The SYNCH app turns cell phones into a combination walkie-talkie, WhatsApp, and navigation and mapping device

An application developed by the Israeli company Elbit Systems helps Israeli rescuers from United Hatzalah present in the disaster area in Turkey. The SYNCH system is designed to manage collaborations between all medical personnel in the disaster area and the United Hatzalah command center in Jerusalem. In addition to daily rescue tasks, the application has already undergone several “baptisms of fire” during incidents with multiple causation.

SYNCH centralizes the work of all people deployed in the field. Team Supervisors can manage all United Hatzalah emergency and rescue teams on a map, and use various tools to guide and assist them in their mission. Teams in the disaster area can transmit voice messages, photos and live video from the field, and send updates to command and control centers.

The app works on any cellular network and allows teams to be quickly deployed to any environment with network coverage, while maintaining contact with parties in the field and in Israel. SYNCH is installed on cell phones as an app, turning them into a combination walkie-talkie, WhatsApp, and navigation and mapping device – making it an all-in-one app.

“During such events, the connection between the delegation and the United Hatzalah International Emergency Center is extremely important – and there is no doubt that cooperation with Elbit helps save lives,” said United Hatzalah’s Zohar Eli. .
