The outdoor festival period is not only reserved for the summer months. The proof with Expérience Via Boréale which will be held in Vallée Bras-du-Nord (VBN), near Quebec, from March 15 to 17, 2024.

Organized by the company Life’s Better Outside (LBO), this event aims to (re)discover the attractions of this destination of choice for outdoor enthusiasts – it also appears on our list of trips to do in Quebec in 2024 .

Accommodated in the yurt village, participants will be able to explore the territory by hiking, on ski-snowshoes (ski hoc), or even on a fatbike. Everyone will be able to experience the snow via ferrata, one of the rare places where it is possible to do it in winter, including abseiling and ziplining.

The event will not only be an event of guided or independent activities, it also offers a gastronomic component, with a dinner cooked from local products, and educational, as Sarah Sky Carpentier explains:
“With or without experience, we want to help people develop their autonomy by giving them the tools to become so: traceless, winter camping with the management of water, heat, the multi-layer system, etc. Ultimately, we want to promote the outdoors, even in winter! »
Other events like this in 2024
In 2023, LBO Experience organized a festival with around a hundred participants at the Palissades de Charlevoix. For this new year, the organizers have decided to change their approach by increasing the number of events, but with fewer people.
“Our goal is to make Quebec and the various players in the outdoor community shine,” explains Sarah Sky Carpentier. However, a festival, only once a year, is a bit limiting. We therefore decided to focus on micro-experiments, several times a year, in different regions of Quebec. »
This was particularly the case in August 2023 and last fall at Mont Ham.
The March 2024 event in Vallée Bras-du-Nord will therefore be the first in a series of ten, with a highlighted activity for each. Organizers did not want to reveal the locations of upcoming events.
However, we can tell you that there will be river descent, climbing or even camping on a summit for the Perseids. To find out more, you will have to be patient and monitor the LBO Expérience website.
- Rates : $250 for one night, $280 for 2 nights. In both cases, this includes Saturday dinner, winter via ferrata, abseiling and ziplining.
